What Is The Easiest Way To Prevent Damages Onsite?

Are you becoming frustrated with projects being damaged and in need of costly repairs? As many as four out of five construction, building or renovation projects go over budget and whilst some of these issues can not be avoided, many damages and repairs can.

So what is the easiest way to avoid damages and subsequent delays? Here are our top tips:

1. PLAN AHEAD.

Before work starts, plan what protection materials you will need, and make sure you give yourself time to order everything. Correctly setting out a budget for your protection materials ahead of time will reduce last-minute orders, cutting corners and subsequent delays.

2. START WITH HIGH-RISK AREAS.

Surfaces such as windows and doors are the most expensive to replace or repair. Focusing on these areas to start with will allow you to make sure you're covering the highest-risk areas first. There is an easy way to avoid damage to windows and doors, however, as here at Sitepro we have a great range of window protection products and door protection available, helping you to keep them safe and in pristine condition throughout your build or project.

3. THINK ABOUT THE WEATHER.

At this time of year, weather can cause all sorts of issues on site, from bogged-down sites to sodden blocks that can't be laid. Looking ahead and making sure you have the correct temporary protection for the time of year you will be working in is important. Items such as Proguard Block Stack Covers or External Ground Protection Mats will go a long way to keeping site running efficiently in bad weather.

4. USE THE BEST PROTECTION MATERIALS

Researching and finding the best protection materials will help you find the highest quality product, as well as the one that is best suited for the task and can be left in situ for the longest time - meaning there is less time spent on replacing the temporary protection once work is underway. For example, most window protection films can be left on for up to 40 days, but the brand new Proguard 6-month Window Protection Film can be left on for 6 months - saving costs incurred from labour every 40 days.

5. TALK TO AN EXPERT.
