What is Correx made from?

WHAT IS CORREX?

Correx is a corrugated plastic that is mainly used as a protection solution during a construction job, home removal or renovation. Correx protection boards are tough, durable, and impact-resistant, which means they are perfect for protecting floors from damage. Correx is made from polypropylene and in its essence is a plastic-like cardboard in the form of a twin-walled plastic sheet.

One of Correx’s greatest benefits is the fact that is reusable and easy to transfer to a different job or area of the worksite. This makes Correx a very cost-effective protection solution to consider. Plus, it’s waterproof, so you won't have to dispose of it due to a spill or rain!

SO, WHAT IS CORREX MADE FROM?

This plastic-like cardboard is made from polypropylene and is essentially a twin-walled plastic sheet that is lightweight and easy to manipulate. All of Proguard's PBB Correx boards that we stock are made from 90% recycled materials - compared to other competitors whose Correx board is usually only around 60% recycled materials.

Another great advantage that Correx is that it’s fully recyclable. Doing our part to protect the environment is so important and with building sites creating so much waste there is a great opportunity for the industry to make a positive difference. Sadly, plywood is often sent to a landfill site because of its toxic formaldehyde content, and the fact it has to be separated from other wood. Plywood also rots after a while, making it unsuitable as a reusable protection material. Correx on the other hand is easy to recycle and is also reusable for a long period of time. With Correx you can simply stock up and keep using the same materials over and over again, protecting your surfaces and helping the environment.
